Sponsor A Tree

In 2012, we will be planting hundreds of brand-new baby trees. This is an exciting time for our farm; one full of hope and promise for the future of fabulous food. We invite you to be a part of our new adventure by sponsoring a tree or two (or more). It is a great gift for yourself or your friends and family!

Plantings will include white and yellow peaches, Asian pears, and between 140 and 200 varieties of apples. Apples varieties will include favorites like Gold Rush as well as antique and unique varieties such as Itzstedter Apfel, Kandil Sinap, Bloody Ploughman, and Cinnamon Spice (see our blog post, 141, for more about all the new apple varieties).

Sponsoring a tree will help us give it a great start on its journey to being a healthy, productive tree. Trees require several years of attentive care and training before they begin to bear fruit. They are rather like children that way; we, as loving parents, train them and tend them and look forward to the day when they become successful adults. We invite you to help us nurture these orchard youngsters as they begin their journey toward adulthood.

Sponsors will receive:

1. A hand-written note card thanking you for being a sponsor, or announcing the gift(s) of a sponsored tree.

2. An invitation in spring (exact date TBD) to join us on the farm for a special Celebration Day, during which we'll be celebrating the farm's 20th anniversary and the beginning of the new orchard and expanded garden. Part of the day's events will include selecting the exact variety and individual tree you have sponsored and tagging it. Those who are at a distance, or who cannot attend Celebration Day, will have the opportunity to choose the variety they'd like via email, and we'll tag their tree for them.

3. A special gift on Celebration Day (via snail mail if a sponsor can't make it to the farm).

4. The sponsor's name will be included on a map of the entire planting.

5. Updates on the progress of the growth of all the sponsored trees via email. We'll let you know what's going on during the different seasons of the year.

6. ....and more as the years go on!

Sponsor a single tree of your choice for $75 each. Or sponsor a Tree Bundle, which includes one of each type of tree (apple, peach, and Asian pear) for $225. Or sponsor a block of 10 trees at $70 each and have plenty for yourself and/or to give as gifts. See all the options below and choose what you'd like.

If any portion of your order is a gift, you'll let us know during the ordering process. As soon as you place your order, we'll email you requesting your recipient's contact information, so we can be sure they get all that a sponsor should!
